Kelowna, BC — December 20, 2010 — On December 6, 2010, Kelowna City Council passed a resolution to release up to $500 of start-up funding to the newly formed Black Mountain/Belgo Residents Association. This non-profit society acts as a liaison between resident and the City of Kelowna, with the aim of making the area an enriching and vibrant place to live.
Area businesses are encouraged to advertise on the Association's website (www.bmbra.ca ) and residents are encouraged to visit the website for important community information and to become a member. Membership is free and ensures that residents are included in pertinent communication, events and AGMs.

Black Mountain/Belgo Residents Association, a non-profit society, has been formed aimed at making the area an enriching and vibrant place to live through increased communication among area residents. The association’s first order of business has been to develop a website that will act as a useful informational resource for residents at www.bmbra.ca. Becoming a member is free for residents, but they are hoping to generate some revenue by allowing those members with home-based or nearby businesses to pay a nominal fee for a listing on the website and are now canvassing to assist with their start-up costs. The association will hold a community event in February 2011 to identify neighbourhood priorities and issues. [Tracey] Hulten is president of the association.
